The departure of HP's CEO has been coming for some time -- will the company now segment itself into 2 (or more?) business operations, one focussed on consumers (printers/PC's) and the other on development of enterprise services and solutions? Or will the company continue to attempt to expand its "portfolio" of companies format being pushed by some of the remaining executives, essentially validating Fiorino's strategy, but faulting it's execution? The rumor mill suggests that recent BOD changes will lead to further action at the company, with the enterprise group under the most intense scrutiny. However, Wall Street appears to support the move, with the stock enjoying a modest increase at midday.
