Disruptive technology hits the Media

As if Big Media (or as it is referenced in the blogging world, MSM, short for Main Stream Media) didn't have enough problems, now it is increasingly evident that the blog world is not only directly attacking it, but using the blog form to leverage one person's opinion into the "virtual" voices of the many. Recent embarassments (Rathergate, paid partisan pundits, the "Jeff Gannon" story) show that both MSM and bloggers have plenty of weaknesses and dirty laundry, yet only MSM has shareholders and users that they are answerable to. The blog world has seemingly zero accountability. Witness the acts by a few paid Republican bloggers in South Dakota, which gives the latest demonstration of the power of this new media.
