Mozilla forms new, for profit corporation.
Mozilla, proud parent of open source browser Firefox and mail client Thunderbird has announced the formation of a for-profit corporation to undertake further development of these products. The strong growth of Firefox among corporate users particularly has been problematic for Mozilla, which operates as a tax-exempt organization due to its non-profit status. This should be good news for everyone who appreciates the existence of a non-bloatware alternative to IE and Netscape, as the new entity should be able to bring more resources to bear on continuing development of the browser and mail product lines.
