Google getting heat in the Valley.

The New York Times has an interesting article that draws many comparisons between Microsoft and Google. One of the many observations made is that even Microsoft acknowledges that Google is the first competitor they have faced that is so strikingly similar in culture to itself...that is to say, capable of entering into and dominating any market, anywhere. On a somewhat related note, I have taken the plunge and am going to be experimenting with the new GoogleTalk service. I will report my experience as a late to the party newbie IMer in subsequent posts...as I wonder if this is really a good idea.
