Dynabook gets closer to reality.
Microsoft announces another iteration on the tablet PC...which brings us one step closer yet to the original vision of Dynabook's creator Alan Kay (from 1968). For those interested, Alan has also put together a very nice summary of the seminal computer science achievements at PARC here as part of his remarks upon receiving the Charles Stark Draper Prize in 2004, which was awarded to Alan, Butler Lampson, Bob Taylor and Chuck Thacker for their work at PARC developing the first practical networked personal computers.
